Why We Must Hold More Firmly to God’s Word in the Age of AI

Isaiah 40:8 "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever."

Today, we live in an age overflowing with information. In the past, if people wanted to learn something, they had to search through books, ask others, and spend time studying. But now, with a small device in our hands called a smartphone, we can receive countless pieces of knowledge and many kinds of answers. A simple search brings up many resources, and when we ask artificial intelligence a question, it can often give us a detailed and easy-to-understand explanation. The world is changing faster and faster, and people are looking for quicker answers, easier explanations, and more convenient ways.

But the more we live in an age filled with so many words and so much information, the more clearly we must hold on to one thing. That one thing is the Word of God. This is because,

AI may be able to answer people’s questions, but it cannot save the human soul.

1 Peter 1:8-9 "8Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls."

Revelation 7:10 "And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb."

AI may be able to find information for us, but only God can bring sinners to repentance.

Luke 5:31-32 "31And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. 32I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

Also, no matter how helpful the information AI provides may be, we cannot call it "truth." Truth does not belong to this world. Therefore, it cannot be produced by human wisdom or artificial intelligence, nor can it change according to the flow of the times.

1 John 2:15-16 "15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."

John 8:23 "And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world."

Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."

Only the Word of God is truth. And the One who came in the flesh as the Word of God is Jesus Christ.

John 17:17 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."

John 1:1, 14 "1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."

John 17:8 "For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me."

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Yes, Jesus is the truth, and He is the Word of God. Therefore, believers must not exalt or depend on the information of this world above Jesus. This does not mean that we should ignore worldly knowledge. We may use technology, but we must not place our full trust in technology. We may receive help from it, but our standard of judgment must always be the Bible.

2 Corinthians 10:5 "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."

James 4:10 "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up."

Now, we must become those who humbly listen to the words of Jesus. Unlike the information AI gives us, the words of Jesus give us freedom through the truth and give us life.

John 8:32-36 "32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 35And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. 36If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."

John 5:25 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live."

Therefore, we who live in the age of AI must hold even more firmly to the words of Jesus. The world will continue to change, technology will continue to advance, and people will continue to create more astonishing tools. Nevertheless, this world and the things in it will all pass away. Only the Word of God will stand forever. Therefore, we must be those who do the will of Jesus.

1 Peter 1:24-25 "24For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you."

1 John 2:17 "And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."

Amen.
